New President for East of England Agricultural Society.

The Rt Revd Stephen Conway, Bishop of Ely, has been elected as the President of the East of England Agricultural Society, the not-for-profit organisation that owns the East of England Arena and Events Centre (EEAEC).

The Society owns the EEAEC, which operates on the Society's showground near Peterborough, and also receives the profits from the the venue business to spend on its charitable objectives, which are managed by the Society's Board under the auspices of its president.
Jeremy Staples, East of England Agricultural Society chief executive, announced the news, saying, "It gives me great pleasure to welcome The Right Reverend Stephen Conway, Bishop of Ely, as the Society’s President, following his election at the AGM in June. Bishop Stephen wants to strongly support us with a ‘hands on’ approach and with his widely publicised interest in agriculture and rural affairs will be a great benefit to the Society."
