New East of England Arena and Events Centre identity reflects investment in modern venue

The launch of the rebranded East of England Arena and Events Centre reflects the investment in creating a modern, multi-purpose event space in the heart of the UK.

The new identity for the former Peterborough Arena, launched at the International Confex event in London on 1 March, follows extensive work to upgrade the venue’s exhibition buildings, facilities and infrastructure. This is the first step in an ongoing capital investment programme, which will increase its appeal to national, European, and international event organisers.

Chairman of East of England Arena and Events Centre Richard Tate said: “Our new name better reflects where we are, what we do, and critically, what we offer event organisers. We are a serious contender for people looking to place a serious business event.

Exciting times

The venue, which has over 9000m2 of indoor space and 250 acres outdoors, plus secure parking for 22,000 cars, has the capability to host exhibitions, trade fairs, arena and outdoor concerts, conferences, corporate events, dinners, and awards ceremonies.

It’s an exciting and positive time, with the new brand launched at Confex supported by the recent appointment of Dean Rees to the newly created post of Business Development Manager and a new onsite Marketing Suite,” said Mr Tate.

Mr Rees, who has worked as an event organiser in the UK and Middle East, said: “As a venue, we tick all the boxes for event organisers. Located right beside the A1, to the west of Peterborough, we provide easy access for visitors as well as enabling speedy build up and breakdown. By rail we are just one stop from London King’s Cross.

Growth area

We are the gateway to the strong and growing eastern UK economy, fuelled by infrastructure projects such as the A14 upgrade and driven by economic development initiatives,” explains Mr Tate.

We are capitalising on our position by investing in the upgrade of the conference and event facilities to ensure we have the capacity, facilities and support services to meet the demand from event organisers wishing to exploit the potential this region offers.

We offer you a venue that ticks all the boxes: location in terms of economy and demographics, location in terms of A1 access, travel time and efficient build up and breakdown times and location in terms of the range, quality and capacity of facilities and support.

Menu for success

The fully refurbished suites offer visitors a very enjoyable experience and the improved quality and delivery of food and drink is a major focus for us,” said General Manager Jason Lunn. “The food is ethically and regionally sourced, and we’re supporting the farm to fork philosophy buying from local producers and farms.
