Festival of Motorcycling commits to East of England Arena & Events Centre until 2019.

The Carole Nash MCN Festival of Motorcycling has enhanced its commitment to holding the annual two-day motorcyling extravaganza at the East of England Arena and Events Centre until 2019, the venue revealed today.

The festival, launched at the East of England Arena & Events Centre in 2015, and returning in 2016 and 2017, is organised by Bauer Media Group, publishers of the long established Motorcycle News (MCN) magazine. Motorcycle fans and enthusiasts from all over the country come to experience all things motorcycle related at the festival, and the event also offers them the chance to test ride the manufacturer’s latest models in small escorted groups. The Arena’s facility to traffic manage multiple, simultaneous test drive groups, thanks to its network of internal roads and additional access gates, has proved to be an essential feature for the many motorcycle manufacturers that exhibit at the event.

Rob Aherne, managing director of motorcyling, Bauer Media Group, explained the decision to commit to holding the event at the EEAEC for a further two years, saying “Since first launching this event at the arena, it has grown year on year, and the East of England Arena is still able to accommodate the whole festival, from speedway races to camping facilities, with capacity to spare. The venue is unique in its ability to offer a suitable environment for the vitally important test drive sessions run by our manufacturer exhibitors, and we’ve seen the popularity of test-drives improve dramatically as a result. A deeper commitment helps us to plan ahead and manage costs more effectively, whilst giving our exhibitors a consistent platform with plenty of opportunity for expanding their presence and activities at the event.”

Jason Lunn, East of England Arena and Events Centre’s general manager was delighted to be announcing the news, and said “There have been motorcycle events at the arena for many years, and Bauer Media’s decision to keep the festival at the arena for a further two years feels like a vote of confidence in our venue and the services and facilities we provide. This enhanced commitment from Bauer Media means we will be able to plan and prioritise more effectively, enabling us to deliver the continuous improvement our clients have come to expect over the last few years of investment and refurbishment.”
