The East of England Arena and Events Centre has appointed Nialls Guinness to the post of ops assistant. Guinness joins the ops team in the role of ops assistant having worked on a number of events, including the Food & Drink show, during his time as a student. He joined the venue on 15 January 2019 and reports into head of operations & internal events, Ryan Moroney.
Currently studying for a BTech Level 3 in Business Studies, Guinness said, "I am very pleased to have secured a position at the venue that will run up until the completion of my course. With my experience of working in live events at the Arena, it’s my hope that my role will become full-time, once I have finished my course. I am particularly interested in getting involved in the sustainability aspect of live events through an operations role."
Guinness’ appointment continues the venue team’s ongoing expansion, following a record breaking year that saw the venue expand it’s the number of events, exhibitions, conferences and meetings increase by 30% during 2018.
Ryan Moroney added, "Nialls is a very keen and capable young man, and we are delighted to welcome him to the ops team. It’s a varied, busy and challenging part of the events industry and we can assure Nialls we will definitely be keeping him busy."
