Meet the team
Jason entered the industry in 1993 where he worked for an event company in Lincolnshire. He spent much of the next 18 years working on large scale outdoor events.
Having worked his way up to Event Director for several large event portfolios – including some events that still take place at the East of England Arena today (Truckfest and Land Rover Owner Show).
Jason began working with the Arena in 2012 as a consultant initially and then Head of Operations.
“I am Passionate about events and I struggle to balance home life with work but have managed to acquire a much cleverer wife and 3 children along the way. Hobbies (when I can) include classic cars and playing the guitar.”

Dean originally worked as an Event Manager with various leading brands. He worked both as a freelancer and for a time worked in a well-known London venue. He has also worked within the B2B exhibitions industry where he worked in various sales roles. Dean spent 8 years working in the Middle East where he continued to work in sales as International Sales Director for a global exhibitions organiser. Dean joined the East of England Arena in 2017.

Ryan has joined the team from his previous role as head of venue services development at ExCeL London – with 13 years experience in the events industry.
He has worked in ticketing/event registration, stand design and build, exhibition and conference organiser and most recently with venues.
As Head of Operations at the East of England Arena and Events Centre Ryan has responsibility for leading the venue team and managing all operational procedures across the whole venue.
This will include the day to day running of the site and supporting the teams running the internal Showground Services events; including Equifest and Just Dogs Live.

With over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality and events industry, Michelle brings a passion for delivering world class events focussed on the customer journey. Previous venues include the O2arena and ExCeL Exhibition Centre where she worked as Sales and Events Manager for the catering company looking after a wide range of events from concerts, awards ceremonies and sporting events. As Sales Account Manager, Michelle now has responsibility for selling the conference and banqueting spaces within the venue.
Charley started working at the East of England Arena in October 2017, a graduate from the northern film school with a degree in filmmaking specialising in producing. Charley was awarded with recognition from her university for outstanding professionalism. Working on multiple events outside of her degree, she has now joined the East of England Arena as one of our account managers. She works closely with our clients from the planning of the event through to the delivery on event days. Charley works on all different types of events such as conferences, gala dinners and exhibitions.
